On 9 February 1761, Thomas Haile of Essex County and the Parish of Southfarnham gave to Mark Ball and Caty his wife. For the “Natural Affection and Fatherly Love that he hath for his Daughter Caty the Wife of the said Mark Ball”, during their lives they are to have 62 acres in Southfarnham parish bordering Wagoners Line and William Roane. About 1791, Benjamin Haile brought suit against Mark Ball and Caty his wife: Nestor Ironside lessee of Benjamin Haile by John Warden esq. complains of Isaac Buterstaff. That Benjamin Haile on 1 January 1786 let unto Ironside the remainder of a tract purchased of Elizabeth Haile by Thomas Haile late of the county and parish [Southfarnham] except for one part conveyed by Thomas Haile to Mark Ball and Caty his wife.
