Thomas Armstrong was mentioned in the 28 February 1768 will of his father Ambrose Armstrong. He was to receive a gun in addition to a share of the estate. He was also named an executor, but since his name does not appear in connection with any bonds or records concerning the execution of the will, it is possible Thomas was under the age of 21.
