Henry Reeves was mentioned in the 1728 will of his father Henry Reeves. He was to receive, after his mother’s decease, 200 acres, and was named a co-executor. Henry presented the will in court with his mother on 17 March 1729. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 4, pages 342–344.]

On 17 March 1729, Henry Reeves, Sarah Reeves and Pitman Scandrett were bound £2,000 sterling for Henry Reeves’ and Sarah Reeves’ execution of the last will and testament of Henry Reeves deceased. Signed Henry Reeves, Pitmn Scandrett, Sarah her S mark Reeves. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 4, page 346.]

On 17 March 1730, “In the action of tresspass on ye Case brot. by Sarah Reeves & Henry Reeves Exrs of the last will & testament of Henry Reeves decd. agst Mary Paget widow came into Court as well the aforesd Sarah & Henry as the aforesd Mary and the jurors of a jury to wit, Peter Godfrey, John Farguson, Wm Roan, Wm Allen, John Haile, Richd Jones, James Rennolds, Anth Samuel, John Edmondson, Jno Grigory, Jonathan Haile & Nathl. Fogg who to say the truth of the premises being elected tried & sworn upon their oath do say that the sd Mary doth not owe ye debt aforesd as the sd Mary in pleading hath alledged therefore it is considered that the sd Sarah & Henry take nothing by their bill but for their false clamour be in mercy and that the sd Mary go thereof without day and further by ye Court [illegible] it is considered that the said Mary recover agst the sd Sarah & Henry her costs by her about her defence in this behalf sustained and the sd Mary have thereof Execution &c Memorandum that before the Jury were withdrawn & in presence of the Court the aforesd Mary Paget made oath that the Corn charged to her was not agreed for her by her order & never came to her use.” [Essex County, Virginia, Order Book 8, page 134.]

In August 1736, Joseph Reeves initiated a land trial suit against Henry Reeves over property that had belonged to their father, Henry Reeves, and his father, Henry Reeves. Various pieces of evidence were submitted concering the bounds of the land, including the will of their grandfather Henry Reeves and depositions. On 17 May 1738, judgement was decided against Henry Reeves. On the date of judgement, it was recorded that Henry Reeves was 45 years of age.
