On 26 January 1729, Francis Jones witnessed a lease and release from John Boughan of the parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex to Jos Man of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 19, pages 125–127.]
On 17 August 1743, John Allen Sener of Essex County, Southfarnham Parish, was bound unto ffrancis Jones & Barbary his wife of the same county and parish in the Penal sum of 72 pounds current money. John relinquished title to a Negro girl named Tamer, legacy left to Barbara Jones by her father Erasmus Allen but not mentioned in Erasmus’s will. Signed John Allen. On 18 August 1752, Francis Jones of the parish of southfarnham and County of Essex, Planter, and Barbara his wife sold to John Jones. For £19 current money, 66 acres, more or less, in the parish of southfarnham, his part of 200 acres devised by Richd Jones Late of the said County by his last will and testament to be equally divided between Ambrose Jones, Richd Jones and the said Francis Jones. On 25 September 1752, ffrancis Jones witnessed a deed from John Chamberlaine and Ann his wife of the County of Essex, Southfarnham Parish, to James Gatewood. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 26, pages 129–133.]
This may be the Francis Jones who died about 1766, leaving a son Erasmus and daugthers Ann, Susanah and Mary. See Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 12, page 257.
