Ann was mentioned in the 21 April 1753 will of her father-in-law William Cox. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 9, pages 291–295.]

Ann was mentioned in the 24 November 1782 will of her husband, Henry Cox, proved on 15 April 1793. She was to be lent the whole of Henry’s estate during her natural life, and was named an executrix. The will was presented in court by John Cox, to whom probate was granted. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 25.]

On 25 April 1795, administration of the estate of Ann Cox was granted to John Cox. John Cox, Leonard Chamberlain and Vincent Coleman acknowledge their bond in the penalty of £100. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 151.]

The estate of Henry Cox from 1795 to 1797 in account with John Cox, executor, and the estate of Ann Cox from 1795 to 1797, in account with John Cox, administrator, were settled on 11 February 1797 by Jno Haile, W. Wood, and Thos. Roane, and were returned to court 20 February 1797 and ordered to be recorded. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 279–280.]
