Francis Brizendine was mentioned in the 4 June 1776 will of his father Francis Brizendine. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, pages 45–56.]
On 20 October 1795, administration of the estate of Francis Brizendine was granted to Randolph Brizendine. Randolph Brizendine and Thomas Brizendine acknowledge their bond in the penalty of £50. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 199.]
In obedience to an order of Essex County court bearing date 20 October 1795, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Francis Brizendine, Randolph Brizendine, administrator, was made by John Evans, John Trible, and Thos. Broock. Ordered recorded 16 October 1797. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 352–353.]
In a case that continued in 1804, Francis Brizendine sued for distribution of family estate: Orator Francis Brizendine is the eldest son of Francis Brizendine who left a will in 1776 and died in 1776, leaving a wife Elizabeth and other children Thomas Brizendine, Randolph Brizendine, Armsted Brizendine, Susanna Brizendine and Mary Bush. That Elizabeth died on 12 January 1794 without marrying again. That Susanna then married James Callicote. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 21, item 21-C-17.]
