On 17 and 18 November 1803, the lands of Augustine Crow, deceased, 97 acres, were surveyed by William Jones and divided by Coleman Jones, John Jones, and L. Booker, with a widow’s tract and equitable parcels to John Crow, Archilaus Brizendine, Isaam Crow, and Sarah Ledford. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 416.]
In about 1804, orators and oratrice Achilles Brizendine and Ann and Thomas Brizendine infants under 21 complained by Richard Miller. That Francis Brizendine their grandfather died about July 1776. The father of your orators and oratrice was his son Francis. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 21, item 21-C-45.]
On 15 October 1804, Randolph Brizendine and John Jones were bound in the penalty of $700 for Randolph Brizendine’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Achilles Brizendine, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 307.]
