Susanna Brizendine was mentioned in the 4 June 1776 will of her father Francis Brizendine. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 13, pages 45–56.]
Susanna was mentioned, as Susannah Broock in the 10 March 1786 will of her mother, Elizabeth Brizendine, who give her one third of her clothing. The will was proved on 16 June 1794. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 102.]
In a case that continued in 1804, Francis Brizendine sued for distribution of family estate: Orator Francis Brizendine is the eldest son of Francis Brizendine who left a will in 1776 and died in 1776, leaving a wife Elizabeth and other children Thomas Brizendine, Randolph Brizendine, Armsted Brizendine, Susanna Brizendine and Mary Bush. That Elizabeth died on 12 January 1794 without marrying again. That Susanna then married James Callicote. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 21, item 21-C-17.]
