Susanna was mentioned in the 2 September 1801 will of her father, Thomas Brizendine, proved 21 June 1802. “…I Lend to my beloved wife during her life or widowhood, the whole of my estate both real and personal, and after her decease or marriage I Give all my said estate both real and personal to be equally divided among all my children, to wit; Tamizen, Ewin, Susana, Travis, Elizabeth, which said estate I Give to my said five children and to their heirs and assigns forever…” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 149–150.]
On 23 August 1804, Martha Brizendine answered a bill in chancery: Answer of Martha Brizendine, widow of Thomas Brizendine, to bill of Achilles Brizendine, and Ann and Thomas Brizendine, infants under 21. That Thomas left children Tamsin You[?]n [basically illegible], Susannah, Travis and Elizabeth. That Thomas was a brother of Randolph and Armisted. Dated 23 August 1804.
