Merriday Munday was mentioned in the 2 October 1811 will of his father, James Munday, proved on 17 November 1811. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 325–326.]

On 4 January 1815, a division of the slaves belonging to the estate of James Munday was made by Micajah Munday, James Hunter and William Garnett, with equal distribution valued at $1,035.50 each to six legatees, to wit William Younger, Sally Munday, Edmund Munday, Thomas Munday, Muscoe Munday, and Mereday Munday. Ordered recorded on 16 January 1815. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 99–100.]

Meriday Munday was mentioned in the 14 November 1831 will of his uncle, Micajah Munday, presented in court 19 March 1832. To nephew Merida Munday slaves in his possession. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, pages 102–105.]

Accounts of the estate of Micajah Munday, deceased, with Benjamin H Munday, curator, for 1832 were ordered recorded on 19 May 1834. On 5 March 1834, legatees agreed that they had received their share of the estate, including Geo Wright as sole legatee of S Boyce decd & as Attorney for Elizabeth Minter, Richd Motley, Thomas Munday, Meriday Munday, Wm Younger, and Francis Munday. Meredith Munday was mentioned in the 20 November 1835 will of his sister Sarah Munday. He was to receive negroes Harry and Billy, one bed and furniture, a safe, and one cow and calf. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 25, pages 220–221.]

On 15 August 1836, Robert Hill, Fielding Sale and Meriday Munday were bound in the penalty of $8,000 for Robert Hill’s administration of the estate of Margaret Gibson. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 58.]

The will of Meriday Munday was dated 27 September 1851. All estate for seven years to beloved wife provided she support and educate the four youngest children, giving them a plain English education. After seven years wife is to retain land, stock, and household furniture, etc. All rest of estate to be divided among all children “meaning by the word children the first descendants from me, and wishing that the children of each of them should take one childs part.” Son in law Albert Gouldman. Wife to be executrix unless she remarries. Signed Meriday Munday. Witnesses: Wm L Ellis, R. B. Rennolds, Rufus S. Rennolds. Proved on 21 November 1853 by R. B. Rennolds, Rufus S. Rennolds. On the motion of Susan B. Munday, she made nominal executrix with no security. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 27, pages 345–346.]

On 21 November 1853, Susan H. Munday was bound $20,000 as the nominal executrix of the last will and testament of Meriday Munday. Signed Susan H. Munday. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 27, page 344.]

An inventory of the estate of Meridith Munday was taken 7 December 1853 by Wm H Anderson, Edw Powers, L P Sale. Large value but no total. Ordered recorded 19 February 1855. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 27, page 485.]
