In the name of God amen I James Munday being of sound & perfect mind and memory tho weak in body doth make this my last will and testament that is to say I lend my land and all the rest of my estate unto my wife Mary Munday during her life and [sic] her death I give the said land to my son Francis Munday and a negro boy Moses to him and his heirs forever all the rest of my estate at my wifes death my will and desire is that it may be equally divided between all the rest of my children that is to say Easter Younger Edmund Munday, Sally Munday Thomas Munday, Muscoe Munday & Merriday Munday to them & their heirs forever, lastly I appoint my son Francis Munday my executor to this my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 2d day October 1811.

On 18 November 1811, Francis Munday and Micajah Munday were bound in the penalty of $12,000 for Francis Munday’s executorship of the estate of James Munday, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 325–326.]

On 4 January 1815, a division of the slaves belonging to the estate of James Munday was made by Micajah Munday, James Hunter and William Garnett, with equal distribution valued at $1,035.50 each to six legatees, to wit William Younger, Sally Munday, Edmund Munday, Thomas Munday, Muscoe Munday, and Mereday Munday.
