Edmund Munday was mentioned in the 2 October 1811 will of his father, James Munday, proved on 17 November 1811. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 325–326.]
On 4 January 1815, a division of the slaves belonging to the estate of James Munday was made by Micajah Munday, James Hunter and William Garnett, with equal distribution valued at $1,035.50 each to six legatees, to wit William Younger, Sally Munday, Edmund Munday, Thomas Munday, Muscoe Munday, and Mereday Munday. The will of Edmund Munday of Essex County was dated 12 October 1830. All property to wife Nancy during her natural life or widowhood, and after to be equally divided amongst all my children namely Mary Catherine Munday Sarah Munday Roberty Munday, Elizabeth Munday, Virginia Munday, Susan Muday, Agnes Sale Munday, Charlotte Frances Munday, and Caty Nelson Munday. My brother Thomas Munday and my beloved wife executor and executrix. Signed Edmund Munday. Witnesses: Thos. L. O’Neale, G B. Robinson, A. G. O’Neale. Proved 15 August 1831. Edmund Munday was mentioned in the 20 November 1835 will of his sister Sarah Munday. The will implies that Edmund was deceased, since property was to go to his children, not named. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 25, pages 220–221.]
On 20 August 1849, on the motion of Reuben Munday a certificate was granted him in order to his obtaining adminstration of the personal estate of Edmund Munday, deceased, with the last will and testament annexed, in the penalty of $4,000 with John Munday, Henry Munday and Robert Munday his securities.
