Sarah was mentioned in the 21 November 1807 will of her husband James Croxton, proved on 15 February 1808. “… After the payment of my debts and funeral expences I lend to my beloved wife Sarah all my estate both real and personal for and during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease or widowhood I desire the same to be sold … And lastly I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Sarah executrix and my friend Joseph Bohannan Exer. of this my last will and testament…” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, page 61.]
On 21 November 1814, John Croxton and Barker Minter were bound in the penalty of $400 for John Croxton’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Sally Croxton, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 78–79.]
On 2 January 1815, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Sarah Croxton was made by Richd. Woodward, James Montague, and Thomas Dix. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 281.]
