On 17 June 1805, Nancy Alexander and Thomas Hill were bound in the penalty of $100 for Nancy Alexander’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Aris Alexander, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 354–355.]

On 26 August 1805, an appraisal of the estate of Aris Alexander was made by L. Booker, John Jones, and Coleman Jones, ordered recorded 22 April 1806. Note from Nancy Alexander states that the appraisal is to substitute as an inventory for the estate. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 413–414.]

On 20 February 1815, Nancy Jones and Thomas Hill were bound in the penalty of $6,000 for Nancy Jones’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Joseph Jones, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 107.]
