Henry W. Latane was mentioned in the 9 October 1803 will of his uncle, Thomas Waring, proved on 19 December 1803. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 249–251.]

Henry W. Latane was mentioned in the 24 June 1808 will of his father, William Latané, proved on 21 October 1811. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 312–313.]

On 21 October 1811, Henry W Latane, Warner Lewis, John Waring, Thos. L: Latane and Wm. C Latane were bound in the penalty of $50,000 for Henry W Latane’s administration with the will annexed of the goods, chattels and credits of William Latane, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, page 320.]

On 16 October 1815, Henry W. Latané, Warner Lewis, and Thomas S. Latané were bound in the penalty of $6,000 for Henry W. Latané’s and Warner Lewis’s administration with the will annexed of the estate of Lewis Dix, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 219.]

On 22 August 1826, Henry W Latane and Austin Brockenbrough were bound in the penalty of $17,000 for Henry W Latane’s administration with the will annexed of James Allen Jr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 21, pages 1–2.]

On 17 October 1835, Mace Clements and Henry W Latané were bound in the penalty of $20,000 for Mace Clements’s execution of the will of Elizabeth Foster, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 71–72.]

Henry W. Latane was mentioned in the 14 August 1833 will of his brother Thomas L Latane, proved 16 October 1837. All the rest of my estate I lend to my beloved wife Mary B Latane during her life, and after her death I give all my estate to my daughter Lucy Robinson Latane, and in the event of my daughter’s dying before she arrives at the age of twenty one years leaving no child I give all my estate to my brother Henry W Latane, my sister Mary Temple and my brother William C Latane to be equally divided.
