On 18 December 1809, John E Crow, Wm Croxton and Richard Miller were bound in the penalty of $2,400 for John E Crow’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Nathaniel S Crow unadministered by Winny Crow. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 144–145.]
The estate of Nathaniel S. Crow, deceased, with John E. Crow, administrator, from 1810 to 1812 was settled by Lewis Dix, W. Fisher, and James Allen and ordered recorded on 18 January 1813. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 440–442.]
On 29 April 1813, a settlement and apportionment of the estate of Nathaniel S. Crow, deceased, in account with John E. Crow, administrator, was made by W. Fisher, Lewis Dix, and James Allen Sr., with equal distributions to Wm Ball & Wife, John E. Crow, John Crow & Wife, Fielding S. Crow, Andrew Allen & Wife, St. Albion Crow, and Lewis Gatewood & Wife. The will of John E. Crow was dated 7 February 1815. Beloved wife Patsey. My Children Viz Tamsin, Mary, Martha, Susan, Franklin Saunders Crow, Arthur Crow, Albert Galliten Crow, & Nathaniel Saunders Crow. Wife Patsey and Thomas Right senr. to be executors. Signed Jno. E. On 20 February 1815, Patsey Crow and Thomas Wright Sr. were bound in the penalty of $5,000 for their joint administration of the goods, chattels and credits of John E. Crow, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 120.]
