On 18 December 1809, John E Crow, Wm Croxton and Richard Miller were bound in the penalty of $2,400 for John E Crow’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Nathaniel S Crow unadministered by Winny Crow. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 144–145.]

On 31 December 1809, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Nathaniel S. Crow was made by J Bohannan, Lewis Dix, and L. Booker. Ordered recorded on 20 June 1810. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, page 201.]

The estate of Nathaniel S. Crow, deceased, with John E. Crow, administrator, from 1810 to 1812 was settled by Lewis Dix, W. Fisher, and James Allen and ordered recorded on 18 January 1813. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 440–442.]

On 29 April 1813, a settlement and apportionment of the estate of Nathaniel S. Crow, deceased, in account with John E. Crow, administrator, was made by W. Fisher, Lewis Dix, and James Allen Sr., with equal distributions to Wm Ball & Wife, John E. Crow, John Crow & Wife, Fielding S. Crow, Andrew Allen & Wife, St. Albion Crow, and Lewis Gatewood & Wife.
