“Fielding S Crow was born the 8th November 1785” [Crow family Bible at the Virginia State Archives, Acc. 24354]

On 29 April 1813, a settlement and apportionment of the estate of Nathaniel S. Crow, deceased, in account with John E. Crow, administrator, was made by W. Fisher, Lewis Dix, and James Allen Sr., with equal distributions to Wm Ball & Wife, John E. Crow, John Crow & Wife, Fielding S. Crow, Andrew Allen & Wife, St. Albion Crow, and Lewis Gatewood & Wife. On 20 April 1819, Fielding S. Crow and Mourning Johnston were bound in the penalty of $100 for Fielding S. Crow’s administration of the estate of Winey Crow. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 39–40.]

Fielding S. Crow was mentioned in the 21 January 1826 will of his father-in-law, John Lumpkin, proved 18 July 1831. His wife’s portion of her father’s estate was to be kept in trust, not subject to the debts of her husband. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 314–317.]

On 30 September 1830, Fielding S. Crow and William Burke were bound in the penalty of $1,200 for Fielding S. Crow’s executorship of the estate of St. Albion Crow, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 150–151.]

The estate of Nancy Lumpkin in account with James Smither, administrator for 1833 was ordered recorded 16 June 1834. On 24 April 1834, the legatees, including Carter Lumpkin, Roderick Lumpkin, Richardson Lumpkin, Horace Lumpkin, Achilles Lumpkin, Susan Lumpkin, and F. S. Crow, acknowledged that they had received their respective proportions or one eighth part of the estate. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, pages 269–270.]
