Dandrige Sale was mentioned in the 26 July 1830 will of his father, Leonard Sale, proved on 15 November 1830. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 158–160.]
Dandridge Sale was mentioned in the 17 June 1834 will of D. W. Pitts, proved 17 July 1837. “I give to R L Pitts, S D Pitts & Dandridge P Sale one thousand Dollars each.” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 139–140.]
The unsigned will of Arena B. Sale was dated 27 November 1824. All estate to brother Fielding Sale, who is also to be executor. On 20 April 1840, presented in court by Fielding Sale. On 18 May 1840, Dandridge Sale and Mary Jane Andrews state they believe the writing to be in the hand of Arena B. Sale, and the will is ordered recorded.
