The will of Leonard Sale was dated 26 July 1830. To Leonard P. Sale in trust for the benefit of Laura Pitts and her children a negro named Martha which she now has in possession. To Mildred Jones a negro named Lucy. To Leonard P. Sale a negro named George. To Dandridge Sale a negro named Toler. To Lucy A. Sale a negro named Julia. To Mary L. Sale a negro named Nancy. Balance of estate to wife for five years, for the purpose educating my daughter Mary L. Sale, and the support of my wife and two youngest daughters. After five years, land near Beverleys Mill to be sold, with half the negroes belonging to the estate, with the money to be divided between all my children, except that part for Laura Pitts, which is to be in trust with Leonard P. Sale for her benefit. Balance of estate I lend to my wife during her life, and after to be equally divided. Wife Mildred D. Sale and Leonard P. Sale to be executrix and executor. Signed Leod Sale.
