Edward Rowzee was mentioned in the 11 March 1798 will (with codicil of 12 April 1799) of his father, William Rowzee, proved on 17 June 1799. Edward was to be executor, but the will also stated that he was under 25 years of age. A certificate was granted to Edward in order to his obtaining probate. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 463–465.]

On 17 June 1799, executorship of the estate of William Rowzee was granted to Edward Rowzee. Edward Rowzee, Colo. William Waring, and Merriday Brown acknowledge their bond in the penalty of $20,000. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 483–484.]

On 21 June 1819, Edward Rowzee, Benjamin H. Munday and Thomas Hord were bound in the penalty of $1,000 for Edward Rowzee’s administration of the estate of Harriott Rowzee, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 45.]

The estate of William Rowzee in account with Edward Rowzee, executor, from 1799 to 1820 was settled on 1 August 1820 by Jas. L. Cox, Wm. Garnett, and Richd. Rowzee. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 118–122.]

On 19 March 1821, Edward Rowzee and Richard Rowzee were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for Edward Rowzee’s administration of the estate of Frances Rowzee, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 182.]

On 17 September 1821, Edward Rowzee and Benjamin H. Munday were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for Edward Rowzee’s administration with the will annexed of the estate of Harriet Rowzee, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 248–249.]

“I do hereby acknowledge that I have received from my brother Edward Rowzee, full satisfaction for the balance due to me from him as Executor of our Father, which balance was Four hundred and ninety eight pounds, and four pence half penny as appears by the settlement of that account on the 1st of August 1820; and also that I have fully settled, and been satisfied by him, for a further balanced [sic] of Two hundred and two pounds 8/11 3/4 due to me on the settlement of his accounts as the Guardian, the agent and administrator of our sister Frances as settled on the 8th August 1820; and I do hereby fully acquit him from all claim on account of either or both of the above mention’d balances — Essex 10th Septr 1823. — Eliza M.
