On 11 December 1804, at the request of Joseph Mann, William Blake and Susanna his wife, Sally Sowell wife of Wm. Sowell and in his presence and with his consent, and Peggy Mann, a division of the slaves of Mr. Robert Mann, deceased, was made by Jas. Jones, Wm. Fleet and John Trible. On 15 May 1815, Susanna Blake and Peter B. Davis were bound in the penalty of $10,000 for Susanna Blake’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of William Blake, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 161.]

On 11 July 1815, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of William Blake, deceased, was made by Jno Smith, Anty Haynes, and Saml Muse, and was returned to court on 19 February 1817. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 358–359.]

The estate of William Blake, deceased, in account with Susanna Blake, deceased, his administratrix, for 1815 and 1816 was settled by Wm Howerton and Saml Muse on 28 June 1816, but the court refused to receive the report and referred it to John Jones, Master Commissioner.
