The will of Sarah Mann was dated 4 September 1804. Children Joseph Mann, Caty Brooks, Peggy Mann, Sally Sowell, and Sukey Blake. Son Joseph Mann to be executor. Signed Sarah her +mark Mann. Witnesses: Dorothy Webb, James Webb. On 15 October 1804, proved and ordered to be recorded. Joseph Mann renounced his right to execution, and administration granted to William Blake. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 308–309.]

On 15 October 1804, William Blake and Joseph Mann were bound in the penalty of $3,400 for William Blake’s administration with the will annexed of the estate of Sarah Mann deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 310.]

On 11 December 1804, an inventory and appraisement of the estate of Sarah Mann was made by Joseph Mann Jr., Thomas Nunn, and John Miller, and accounts of the estate were settled and ordered recorded. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, pages 401–403.]

The estate of Mrs. Sarah Mann deceased in account with William Blake from 1804 to 1808 was submitted and ordered recorded on 20 June 1808. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 76–77.]
