On 19 September 1836, Wm A Baynham, Virginia Baynham and Margaret Baynham were bound in the penalty of $60,000 for William A Baynham’s administration of the estate of John M Baynham, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 67.]
In September 1837 (day left blank), a division of the estate of the late John Baynham was made, with distributions to the widow, M G Baynham; the mother, Virginia Baynham; and the brother, William A Baynham. To the widow (M G Baynham) Nancy and her four children, John, Charles, Hugh and Roberta, Susan, Henry, Winney, Henry, Peter, Elizabeth, and James. To Virginia Baynham (the Mother), Betsey and her four children Paul, Peter, Nancy & William Henry, and George; to William A Baynham the Brother, Dinah, Mary, Philip, John, George, Mary, Winney. On 22 September 1837, Virginia Baynham, Margaret G. Baynham, and William A. Baynham, agreed that all such articles of the personal property of John M. Baynham, deceased, as they may wish to retain, shall be taken at the value at which they were appraised by the Commissioners appoint by the court. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 280.]
On 16 December 1839, Margaret G Baynham witnessed the will of Ann O L Micou, and proved the will in court on 21 April 1840. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 468.]
