On 4 January 1815, a division of the slaves belonging to the estate of James Munday was made by Micajah Munday, James Hunter and William Garnett, with equal distribution valued at $1,035.50 each to six legatees, to wit William Younger, Sally Munday, Edmund Munday, Thomas Munday, Muscoe Munday, and Mereday Munday. Ordered recorded on 16 January 1815. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 99–100.]

Accounts of the estate of Micajah Munday, deceased, with Benjamin H Munday, curator, for 1832 were ordered recorded on 19 May 1834. On 5 March 1834, legatees agreed that they had received their share of the estate, including Geo Wright as sole legatee of S Boyce decd & as Attorney for Elizabeth Minter, Richd Motley, Thomas Munday, Meriday Munday, Wm Younger, and Francis Munday. I William Younger of the County of Essex & State of Virginia do make this my last Will in manner & form following (Viz:) 1st I give to my five grand Children Susan Waller William David & Mary Eliott children of my daughter Polley Elliott one hundred Dollars to be equally divided between them & their heirs forever 2ndly I give to my Daughter Susan Burke my negro Man ned to her & her heirs forever 3rdly I give to my Daughter Sally Munday one half of my Land & my negro Woman Judy & her increase to her & her heirs forever 4thly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Stokes the Wife of Benjamin Stokes during her life the following property to wit two negro Women Cloe & Suckey the other half of my Land one Cow & Calf & the property she now has in possession to wit one bed & Furniture & my Gig & Harness; also one fourth part of the balance of my Estate after paying my just debts &c for her sole & seperate use and benefit and to be in no way liable for the payment of any debt or debts which the said Benjamin Stokes may at this time owe or may hereafter contract & subject in any manner whatsoever to the marital rights of the said Benjamin Stokes and at the death of my said Daughter I give all the property above named to the equally divided among her children & I do hereby constitute and appoint James Burke trustee to manage the property hereby given to my Daughter Elizabeth Stokes 5thly all the balance of my Estate I wish my Executors hereafter named to sell & to pay my debts &c & the remainder part thereof to be divided in four equal parts & one fourth part to be given to my Daughter Polley’s Children above named one fourth to Susan Burke & the other fourth to Sally Munday & Elizabeth Stokes lastly I appoint James Burke & Richard Motley Executors to this my last Will Witness my hand & seal this 1st day of May 1837
