Thomas was mentioned in the 21 January 1810 will of his father, James Davis. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 153–154.]
The estate of James Davis, deceased, in account with Carter Davis, executor, from 1810 to 1811 was settled on 28 November 1811 by Jno. Dunn, Jno. Smith, and Francis Smith. Seven legatees: William, Carter, Lindsay, Thomas, Zachariah, Walker, and Elizabeth Davis. “The legacy and residing estate devised by the will of the testator to his son Thomas, divided as follows to wit, to William, Carter and Lindsay Davis whole brothers £9.3.9 each and to Zachariah, Walker and Elizabeth Davis half brothers and sister £4.11.10-1/2 each … the said Thomas having died before he attained legal age” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 432–434.]
On 19 September 1814, Thomas M. Henley and James Webb were bound in the penalty of $200 for Thomas M. Henley’s administation of the goods, chattels and credits of Thomas Davis, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 59.]
