Greenwood Fisher was mentioned in the 9 February 1809 will of his father, James Fisher, proved 15 June 1812. To son Greenwood Fisher my other plantation also one negro girl named Angella. To son Uriah Fisher one negro girl named Lucy to be left in the hands of my son Greewood [sic] for him if he should ever return here, this with what I have before given him will make him up his proportion of my estate. The will of Greenwood Fisher of the County of Essex, being sick and weak in body, was dated 11 December 1819. To sister Polly Cauthorn my tract of land during her life, and after to be equally divided amongst all her children. To sister Ruthey Edmonds during her life a negro girl Angeller and one girl named Sally, and after to be equally divided amongst her children. To sister Ruthey all residue of estate. On 17 January 1820, Amos Cauthorn, James Cauthorn and John Cauthorn were bound in the penalty of $1,500 for Amos Cauthorn’s administration with the will annexed of Greenwood Fisher. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 83–84.]
