The last will and testament of Elizabeth Anna Kunigunda Woelfel, widow, of the City of Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, was dated 1 March 1915. To St. Anthony’s (Roman Catholic) Orphan Asylum, $100. To the Order of Oblate Sisters of Providence (colored), $50. To the Dolan Children’s Aid Society, $50. To the Rector of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church $300, as an offer for requiem masses to be said for the repose of the souls of myself and my beloved husband George Woelfel. To daughter Maria A. Woelfel all household furniture, except one picture titled Blessed Margaret Mary, which I give to daughter Anna J. Schmitt. To grandchildren Peter Schmitt and Edwin Schmitt each $100. To grandson Frederick George Endress (son of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Endress) $300. To my children viz., George J. Woelfel, Anna J. Schmitt, Barbara E. Mathis and Maria A. Woelfel, $250. To grandson George Woelfel (the son of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Endress), $1500, which sum shall be paid to him when he shall have arrived at the age of 40 years. To granddaughter Maria A. Woelfel (daughter of my decased son John C. Woelfel), $1000, which shall be paid to him when he reaches 35 years. To grandson Frederick Lutz (son of my deceased daughter Margaret Lutz) the sum of $400, which shall be paid to him when he reaches 35 years. To Marie Lutz (daughter of my deceased daughter Margaret Lutz) $400 to be paid to her when she reaches 35 years. To granddaughter Geraldine Lutz (daughter of my deceased daughter Margaret Lutz) $400 to be paid to her when she reaches 35 years. My house and lot at 16 North Luzerne Avenue I give to my daughter Maria A. Woelfel, to be held by her as long as she shall remain unmarried, with the right to purchase said fee-simple property at any time before her marriage for the price of $2000, and to take an absolute title thereto by paying said sum to my Executrix. Should my daughter fail to purchase the property, then it shall become part of the residue of my estate. All the rest and residue of my estate I direct my Executrix to divide into five equal parts, distributed to daughter Anna J. Schmitt, daughter Maria A. Woelfel, daughter Barbara E. Mathis, son John Woelfel, and son George J. Woelfel (with additional provisions if any should die before the testator). Daughter Maria A. Woelfel to be executrix. Signed Elizabeth Anna Kunigunda Woelfel. Witnesses: Jas. G. Phillips, John A. Henkus, Wm. B. Smith. On 10 March 1930 proved by Wm. B. Smith and Jas. G. Phillips. Codicil of 11 February 1925 states that “As I have not heard from my grandson, Frederick Lutz, (son of my deceased daughter, Margaret Lutz) … for a number of years past … I hereby revoke the bequest …” Witnesses to the codicil: Maria Anna Woelfel, Mrs. Anna E. Getz, Elizabeth J. Schussler. On 10 March 1930, Maria A. Woelfel states that the testatrix departed life on 13 January 1930. Admitted to record. WOELFEL.—On January 13, 1930, ELIZABETH, beloved wife of the late George Woelfel.
Funeral will take place from her late residence, 16 North Luzerne avenue, on Thursday at 8.30 A. M.; thence to St. Michael’s Church, where Solemn Requiem High Mass will be said at 9 A. M. Interment in Holy Remeemer Cemetery.
