B. D. Pitts was mentioned in the 17 June 1834 will of his brother D. W. Pitts, proved 17 July 1837. “The balance of my Estate I leave to my Brother B D Pitts to him and his heirs forever.” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, pages 139–140.]
