Adaline Blake was mentioned in the 4 April 1831 will of her father, Benjamin Blake, proved 19 September 1831. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 323–326.]
On 30 July 1833, in pursuance of an order of Essex County court dated 17 December 1832, Washington H. Purkins proceeded to settle the trusteeship of Austin Brockenbrough under the will of Benjamin Blake, deceased, and an account of the said Brockenbrough’s guardianship of Catharine A. Blake, who intermarried with Henry S. Dawson. The settlement states that Sarah Adaline Blake has intermarried with C. R. Nutt. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, pages 174–184.]
