Catherine Thomas died on 30 April 1957. Her death certificate provides the following information: full name Catherine Thomas, died in Baltimore City, Maryland; resided in Maryland; died at 313 Suffolk Road, Baltimore; lived in Baltimore all her life; lived at 313 Suffolk Road; female, white, widowed; born 1 July 1870; died aged 86; occupation housework; born in Baltimore, Maryland; father Ferdinand Schneider; mother’s name is blank; informant was Mrs. Albert T. Moore of 313 Suffolk Road; cause of death (a) arteriosclerotic heart disease (3 years) (b) arterio-sclerosis (3 years); buried at Parkwood Cemetery on 4 May 1957. A death notice in The Sun (Baltimore) stated: THOMAS.—On April 30, 1957, at her home, 313 Suffold road, CATHERINE, beloved wife of the late Charles M. Thomas and devoted mother of Edna Thomas Moore and grandmother of Carl T. Moore. Funeral services to be held at H. Sander & Sons, North avenue and Broadway. Due notice. [The Sun (Baltimore), Wednesday, 2 May 1957, page 29.]
A death notice in The Sun (Baltimore) stated: THOMAS.—On April 30, 1957, at her home, 313 Suffold road, CATHERINE, beloved wife of the late Charles M. Thomas and devoted mother of Edna Thomas Moore and grandmother of Carl T. Moore. Funeral services will be held at H. Sander & Sons, North avenue and Broadway, on Saturday at 2:30 P.M. Interment private. [The Sun (Baltimore), Thursday, 2 May 1957, page 29; Friday, 3 May 1947, page 35; Saturday, 4 May 1957, page 20.]
The book from Catherine’s funeral at H. Sander & Sons states that she was born at 1740 Fleet Street, Baltimore, Maryland on 1 July 1870 and died at 313 Suffolk Road, Guilford, Baltimore, Maryland on 30 April 1957. Among those who visited and signed the book were Mr. & Mrs. Frank C. Kopp, and “Mamie Woelfel & Sister” of 16 N. Luzerne Avenue.
She is buried with her husband and her daughter Edna, and with Edna’s husband Albert.
