On 4 September 1797, Augustine Baughan and Eleanor his wife of the town of Fredericksburg of the one part sold to William Waring jr. of the County of Essex of the other part. For £600 current money of Virginia, a divided one half of a tract of land belonging to the estate of Griffing Boughan deceased, supposed to contain 145 acres, “bounded by the lands of the said William Waring Junr. Colo William Waring, Richard Vauter and the land belonging to the Orphans of my Father (Griffing Boughn decd) “ … Signed Aug. Baughan, Eleanor Boughan. Witnesses: William Waring, H. B. Brooke, Jno.
