On 20 October 1800, Jno Haile, along with Richard Thomas Haile, Charles Howerton, Ambrose Hunley, William Newbill, George Howerton and Wm Howerton bound themselves $4,000 to Essex County court, as Jno Haile and Charles Howerton were named administrators of the goods of Ambrose Howerton deceased. On 8 May 1804, Jno Haile junr witnessed a marriage bond in which Hundley Moody and Jesse Boughan were bound for the marriage of Hundley Moody, bachelor, and Catharine Boughan, spinster. A sale of the estate of Richard Thomas Haile was made on 1 and 2 February 1808 by John Haile, administrator, and the account of the estate was settled on 3 Febraury 1808, presented by John Haile junr as agent for his father John Haile admr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 56–60.]
John Haile received most of the property of his father John Haile through his father’s will. He was also named executor, but declined the executorship and received a certificate of administration after entering into a bond for $12,000 with Robert G. Haile and Lawrence Muse.
