“Married on Thursday the 31st of May [1811] John Haile, Esq., Collector of Tappahannock, to the amiable Miss Sarah Aldridge.” [Enquirer (Richmond), 7 June 1811.]

On 15 February 1819, Sarah Haile, Benjamin Blake and Robert G. Haile were bound in the penalty of $12,000 for Sarah Haile’s administration of the estate of John Haile, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, page 25.]

The estate of John Haile, deceased, in account with Sarah Haile, administratrix, from 1819 to 1823 was ordered recorded on 19 January 1824. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, pages 5–11.]

The estate of John Haile, deceased, in account with Sarah Haile, administratrix, from 1824 to 1826 was settled on 2 August 1826 by commissioner Lawrence Muse. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 21, pages 14–16.]

The will of Sarah Haile of the Town of Tappahannock and the County of Essex was dated 24 October 1824. Daughter Catharine. Land in Frederick County inherited from father Adam Aldridge. “My children”. Late husband John Haile. Three children Catharine, Robert, Benjamin B. Haile. Benjamin Blake and Robert G. Haile have been securities for my administration of John Haile. Signed Sarah Haile. Witnesses: H: T: Minor, Cornelius Miller, Elliott Blake. Proved 17 January 1826. Bond follows. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, pages 297–299.]

On 19 December 1825, sales of the estate of Sarah Hail, deceased, were made on six months credit. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, page 357.]

On 17 January 1826, Robert G. Haile and Henry W. Latane were bound in the penalty of $20,000 for Robert G. Haile’s execution of the last will and testament of Sarah Haile, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, page 299–300.]

On 17 January 1826, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Sarah Hail, deceased, was made by Josiah Minter, Fontaine Wood, and Graves Burke. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 20, page 356.]

The estate of John Haile, deceased, in account with Robert G. Haile, administrator de bonis non, from 1825 to 1828; and the estate of Sarah Haile, deceased, in account with Robert G. Haile, executor, from 1825 to 1829 were ordered recorded on 18 January 1830. Includes in Sarah’s estate “Expenses bringing Corpse from Caroline to Tappahannock & for Funeral Expenses”.
