On 16 and 17 February 1756, Waters Dunn witnessed a lease and release from John Wiley and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Essex to Thomas Bridgforth of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 193–195.]
In February 1757, John Allen late of the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham appointed Waters Dunn his attorney to collect from the estate of Richard Armstrong. Signed John Allen. On 19 April 1758, Waters Dunn was mentioned in the will of Joseph Greenhill of the County of Essex. He was to receive Joseph’s “waring apprel”. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, pages 116–117.]
On 19 April 1791, Wheeler Haile brought suit against Waters Dunn: Your orator Wheeler Haile. That sometime in he and Waters Dunn exchanged watches, and in the deal Waters Dunn was to pay £9 difference, which he did. But Wheeler Haile being a carpenter “was going to work a considerable distance out of the county” and applied to William Dunn not to pay him the £9 but to give him security to pay £6, etc. Filed on 19 April 1791.
