On 18 April 1836, Mary Micou, Susan S. Micou, Albert Micou, John M. Tupman and James Roy Micou Jr., were bound in the penalty of $54,000 for Mary Micou’s administration de bonis non with the will annexed of the estate of Paul Micou Senr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 8.]
On 18 April 1836, Mary Micou, Susan S. Micou, Albert Micou, John M. Tupman and James Roy Micou Jr., were bound in the penalty of $11,000 for Mary Micou’s administration de bonis non with the will annexed of the estate of Paul Micou Senr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 8.]

On 17 June 1844, Birkett G. Rennolds and Albert Micou were bound $100 for Birkett G. Rennolds’ administration of the goods, chattles and credits of Lewis Munday. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 25, page 291.]
On 24 October 1845, Albert Micou complainted to the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery for the Essex County. That Augustus Pitts and himself [sic] about late February 1844 entered into a copartnership as Pitts & Micou merchants at Loyds. Augustus Pitts was to take care of the books. That Albert Micou and Augustus Pitts went to Baltimore and purchased a stack of goods. They did business until August 1845, at which point they were in debt. Augustus Pitts has left the county. Your orator has heard he might be in Richmond or Baltimore. Filed from Middlesex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 51, item 51-F-23.]
On 30 October 1845, Augustus Pitts filed answer to the bill of Albert Micou. He admits that he was in a copartnership with Albert Micou and admits the purchase of goods. He “vehemently” denies any mismangement. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 51, item 51-F-26.]
