On 4 September 1753, “Ruth Street came into Court and Choose John Thurston for her Guardian and thereupon the said John together with Henry Street his Security enter’d into bond, for the said John’s faithful guardianship of the said Orphan and acknoweldged the same to be their act and deed, wch is admitted to Record.” [Middlesex County, Virginia, Orders 1752–1758, page 85.]
