On 3 January 1786, a William Jones witnessed the will of Dolly Kerchevall of the Parish of South Farnham and County of Essex. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 14 ,pages 49–50.]
On 4 July 1791, a William Jones witnessed the will of James Edmondson of Charleton Hill in the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 14, pages 292–293.]
On 21 January 1793, a William Jones witnessed a deed from John Boughan and Sarah his wife of the County of Essex and parish of Southfarnham to Thomas Crow of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 33, page 436.]
In August and September 1800 a William Jones surveyed Crow family land in Essex County and King and Queen County. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 18, items 18-B-7,14.]
On 18 December 1801, William Jones and Amea his wife of the Parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex sold to Aris Alexander of the same. For £82.5, a parcel in the said county containing by estimation 12 acres more or less, bounded by the lands of Nathaniel Dunn decd, Capt Thomas Allen, the main Road that leads from Millers Tavern to Hobbs=Hole, and Richard Jones, it being part of a Tract of land which was deeded by Thomas Miller decd of King & Queen to Benjamin Jones of Essex County and by the said Benjamin Jones was deeded to Thomas Bohannan & from him to the above said William Jones. Signed William Jones, Amea Jones. Witnesses: Reuben Garnett, JBohannan, Carter Wood, Richd Miller, Vincent Gordon, George Purkins. On 21 December 1801 ordered to be recorded. On 20 December 1802, William Jones, Richard Dunn, Thomas Jones, and three witnesses as to Richd Miller: JBohannan, L:Booker, D. Shepherd, witnessed a deed from Richard Miller and Frances his wife of the parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex sold to Arise Alexander of the same. On 16 March 1813, William Jones certified that he had sold all right to a legacy left him by his grandfather Benja. Jones deceased to Leonard Jones, son to William’s uncle William Jones. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 22, item 22-M-61.]
On 16 March 1835, Robert Lumpkin and Jefferson Minor were bound in the penalty of $500 for Robert Lumpkin’s administration of the estate of William Jones, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 332.]
