In an undated petition, orators and oratrices Thomas Jones, Leonard Jones, Nathaniel W. Herbert and Clary his wife, Robert Lumpkin and Harriott his wife, and Coleman Jones an infant by Thomas Jones his next friend complained that Amey Jones before her marriage with Ephraim Beazley jr being possessed of the following slaves in her own right (a list follows) executed a deed of trust. Her father was Leonard Burnett. More slaves were expected from his estate. Ephraim Beazley is somewhat in debt to several persons.
