On 19 May 1829, Robert Lumpkin and William Burke were bound in the penalty of $60 for Robert Lumpkin’s administration of the estate of Amey Beazley, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 21, page 74.]

On 28 May 1829, a receipt was issued. Recd. of James Semple agent for Nathaniel Herbert who is the administrator of Leonard Burnett decd. the sum of twenty nine dollars & 26 cents, which is one fifth part of a balance found due the Estate of the sd. Leonard Burnett, decd, upon a settlement of the sd. Herberts administration, which amount I received as administrator of Amy Beazley decd. who was one of the legatees of the sd. Leonard Burnett decd. Signed Robert Lumpkin. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, page 101.]

On 16 March 1835, Robert Lumpkin and Jefferson Minor were bound in the penalty of $500 for Robert Lumpkin’s administration of the estate of William Jones, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 23, page 332.]

In an undated petition, orators and oratrices Thomas Jones, Leonard Jones, Nathaniel W. Herbert and Clary his wife, Robert Lumpkin and Harriott his wife, and Coleman Jones an infant by Thomas Jones his next friend complained that Amey Jones before her marriage with Ephraim Beazley jr being possessed of the following slaves in her own right (a list follows) executed a deed of trust. Her father was Leonard Burnett. More slaves were expected from his estate. Ephraim Beazley is somewhat in debt to several persons. (The relationships are not stated, but it implies that Thomas Leonard, Clary, Harriott, and Coleman are children of Amey.) [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 30, item 30-A-35.]
