The estate of Evan Davis, deceased, in account with Job Davis, executor, from 1807 to 1811 was ordered recorded on 18 May 1814, and included a report relating to a suit filed in chancery in which the children of Peter Davis were plaintiffs, “This Report relating to and filed in a wuit in Chancery depending in the said Court Danl. Schelling husband of Nancy Davis, Chaney Brizendine husband of Polly Davis, Samuel Williamson husband of Fanny Davis and others Plaintiffs and Sthreshly Rennolds Sheriff of Essex County committee of the Estate of Job Davis decd. who was exor of Evan Davis decd.” For Peter Davis’s share of the estate, equal distribution was made to the Daniel Shelling and wife, Chaney Brizendine and Polly his wife, Samuel Williamson and wife, Griffin Harper and wife, and to George Wiatt, guardian of Sally Davis. On 19 May 1817, Caty Brizendine, Chaney Brizendine and Austin Brooks were bound $2,500 for Caty Brizendine’s execution of the estate of Randolph Brizendine. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 389–390.]

On 17 December 1821, Chaney Brizendine and Vincent Ramsey were bound in the penalty of $100 for Chaney Brizendine’s adminsitration of the estate of Patsey Harper, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 19, pages 267–268.]

The estate of Chaney Brizendine in account with A. Brockenbrough, Sheriff and committee administrator, from 1826 to 1828 was ordered recorded on 16 June 1828. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 21, pages 263–264.]
