Lucy Dix was mentioned in the 3 April 1838 will of her grandmother, Catharine Dix, proved 17 December 1838. “Fourthly, my desire is that after all my just debts are paid, that my Executor ascertain the residue of the funds of my estate, which I desire to be equaly divided between all my grand children (except Lucy Dix the daughter of Tandy Dix decd to whom I do not intend to give any thing)…” [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 24, page 340.]
