On 4 June 1955, Cora Breeden Russell attended a 50 year reunion of the Class of 1905 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

“Mrs. Russell is dead at 82.
Mrs. Cora Breeden Russell, 82, or 1599 E. Ninth st., former resident director of the Y.W.C.A. here, was dead on arrival at Iowa Methodist Hospital Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Russell, recently house-mother of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house at Drake University, was stricken with an apparent stroke at the house at 1245 Thirty-fourth st.
Mrs. Russell was born near Mitchellville, graduated from Drake and was a longtime resident of Des Moines. On the death of her husband, a prominent Des Moines dentist, she became active in Y.W.C.A. work, and was resident director for about five years, retiring in 1959.
Interested in young people, she substituted for the regular housemother at the fraternity about a year ago, and was subsequently asked to stay on when the housemother resigned.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church, the Tourist Club and the Senior Singers.
Surviving Mrs. Russell are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Alice Klepfer of Glenview, Ill, and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dunn’s Funeral Home, with burial at Mitchellville.” [Unmarked newspaper clipping.]
