Polly was mentioned in the 30 March 1815 will of her father, William Newbill, proved 17 April 1815. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 148–149.]

On 18 September 1815, Polly Newbill was listed as an orphan of William Newbill. [Essex County, Virginia, Order Book 42, page 57.]

In 1824, petition was made to the Honble Judge of the Chancery District Court of Fedrs’g. That William Newbill of the County of Essex died in 1815 testate leaving a wife Rebecca and children Thomas, John, William, George, James, Richard, and Polly Newbill, Elizabeth Garrett and Ann Gatewood. For debt. 1824. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 43, item 43-L-48.]

On 13 March 1830, Orville Jeffries and Polly his wife who was Polly Newbill answered a bill of complaint [43-L-48]. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 43, item 43-L-20.]
