On 20 July 1802, Robert Payne Waring and Lawrence Muse entered into a bond in the penalty of $5,000 for Robert P. Waring’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of John Latane, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 16, page 153.]
John Latane was mentioned, apparently as deceased, in the 24 June 1808 will of his father, William Latané, proved on 21 October 1811. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 312–313.]
