“Rachel Flitcher depart this life Decr. 30th 1814” [Minter-Durham family Bible at the Virginia State Archives, Acc. 26856]
On 14 April 1798, Rachel Fletcher declined to administer the estate of her late husband, John Fletcher. “To the Worshipful Court of Essex County as my husband John Fletcher lately died intestate and I do not wish to take upon myself admon. of his Estate if it can be committed to such person as I can confide in I now declare that I resign my right to the Same to my brother Barker Minter to whom I wish the Same to be granted. Given under my hand this 14th day of April 1798”
