Sarah was mentioned in the 13 October 1798 will of her husband, Robert Payne Waring, proved on 17 June 1799. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 457–461.]

On 21 October 1799, Thomas Bridges and his wife Sarah Bridges, who was the widow of Robert P. Waring, deceased, relinquished any right to administer the estate of Robert P. Waring. Signed Thomas Bridges and Sarah Bridges. Witness: Danl. Sullivan. Presented in court on 22 October 1799 and proved by Daniel Sullivan, and ordered to be recorded. Additionally, Thomas Bridges and Sarah Bridges wife of Thomas Bridges, lately the widow of Robert Payne Waring, will not take or accept to provision made for the said Sarah by the last well and testament of the said Robert P. Waring, and renounce all benefit which thye might claim by or from the will. Signed Thomas Bridges, Sarah Bridges. Witnesses: James Webb, Obadiah Sullivan.
