Inquisition indented taken at the Diamond Meeting house in the County of Essex aforesaid the 9th day of April in the 39th year of the Commonweath before me Thomas Hill on one of the Coroners of the Commonweath, for the Couty aforesaid upon the view of the body of Alexander Parker late of the said County, then and there lying dead, and upon the oaths of William Fisher, Ellis Armstrong, John Munday, John Keesee, Edmd. Noel Ro: W: Dunn, R. T. Haile, Aaron Ball Jack Dyke, Jno. T. Hill. Edmd. P. Smether and Humphrey Hill good and lawful men of the County aforesaid, who being sworn and charged to enquire on the part of the said Commonwealth, when where how and after what manner the said Alexander Parker, came to his death, do say, upon their oath that from the Testimony of Vincent Dyke, Thos. W. Hill and Fielding Sale find that the above named Alexander Parker was Riding a Race in the Road by the above named Meeting House on the 8th of the present month and the Beast he was on flew the way and flung him against a Pine Tree standing on the Lot of the said Meeting House, which was the cause of his death in a few minutes after the fall Given under our hands and seals the date and year first above written

On 19 June 1815, Polly R. Parker and Fielding Sale were bound in the penalty of $3,000 for Polly Parker’s administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Alexander Parker, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 175.]

On 6 July 1815, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Alexander Parker, deceased, was made by William Gray, Reuben Atkinson, and Nicholas Faulconer. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 261.]
