Richard was mentioned in the 16 September 1780 will of his father, John Nalle, proved 19 August 1782. “Item I give & Bequeath to my Beloved Son Richard Nalle the Tract of Land whereon he now lives Containing by a Survey made by James Graves two Hundred & thirty one Acres; be the same more or Less and his & his Heirs for ever, also one feather Bed … Item I lend unto my Loving Wife for and During her Natural life or Widowhood the Tract of Land and Plantation whereon I now live also all my Slaves not before Bequeathed and all my Stock and furniture of all Kinds also my Will and Desire is that all the Negroes and personal Estate after my Wifes Decease or Marriage be Equally devided amongst my Children Richard Nalle William Nall Francis Nalle James Nall Agatha Hill Mary Sims Gressel Parker Elizabeth Sims Ann Burke & Amie Morriss to them and their Heirs for Ever” [Culpeper County, Virginia, Mixed Records Volume B, pages 519–522.]
