Lewis Booker is mentioned in the 1790 will of his father James Booker. Probate was granted to Lewis Booker. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 101–102.]

On 18 June 1793, execution of the estate of James Booker, deceased, was granted to Lewis Booker. Lewis Booker, William Edmondson and Thomas Dix acknowledge their bond in the penalty of £3,000. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 27.]

The estate of James Edmondson in account with William Edmondson executor from 1779 to 1790 was settled by L Booker, James Wright and James Allen and recorded on 20 January 1794. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 83–85.]

On 21 October 1799, executorship of the estate of William Dunn, deceased, was granted to Carter Croxton. Carter Croxton and Lewis Booker acknowledge their bond in the penalty of $7,000. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, page 507.]

Lewis Booker, with John Trible and James Jones, divided the estate of Samuel Doggins by order of 23 May 1798. Recorded 17 June 1817. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 418–419.]

On 27 February 1800, L. Booker, with James Wright and John Minter, made an inventory and appraisal of the estate of William Wood. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 15, pages 8–10.]

On 21 December 1807, L. Booker, with Carter Croxton and John Minter, appraised the estate of James Dix. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, pages 72–74.]

The estate of Rice Faucett from 1796 to 1808 in account with John Minter was settled by L Booker, Thos Dix and James Wright. Ordered recorded 19 June 1809. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 17, page 129.]

In 1813, Lewis Booker, Carter Croxton and James Montague divided the slaves of Major Boughan in obedience made to a decree of 18 January 1813. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 27, item 27-G-43.]

The estate of Richard Jones, deceased, in account with Coleman Jones, executor, from 1804 [sic] through 1809 was settled on 16 December 1814 by J. Bohannan, Chas. Hill, Lewis Dix and Carter Croxton. “We acknowledge that we have respectively received of William Jones admr &c of Coleman Jones decd. our proportion of the Thirty six pounds 7/6 (and all Interest due thereon) mentioned in the within settlement,” signed by L Booker, John Jones, James Durham, Joseph his x mark Jones, Thomas Jones, Susanna her x mark Jones, Salley Jones, Peggy C her x mark Jones, and James McFarland. Died.—In Essex County, Capt. Lewis Booker, a soldier of the Revolution. [Richmond Enquirer, 11 January 1815, page 3.]

The will of Lewis Booker was dated 23 December 1814. He mentions land in Ohio. Land which formerly belonged to Richard Jones. Wife Judith Booker. My married children James & Dorothy. Friend James Webb and son James Booker to be executors. Signed Lewis his x mark Booker. Witnesses: Lewis Dix, Thomas Dix, and Carter Croxton. Proved 20 February 1815. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 139–140.]

On 20 March 1815, William A. Garnett and Thomas Garnett were bound in the penalty of $20,000 for William A. Garnett’s execution of the last will and testament of Lewis Booker, deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, page 140.]

On 1 April 1815, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Lewis Booker was made by Richd. Woodward, Carter Croxton, and H. H. Boughan. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 18, pages 196–198.]
